Jewson names construction industry’s top young talent

To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, builders’ merchant Jewson has announced the shortlist for its Young Tradesperson of the Year competition.

The award recognises the talent of full and part-time construction professionals and apprentices under the age of 30.

From nearly 150 entries, five finalists have been selected:

  • Grant Gibson – Glasgow
  • Callum Millington – Warrington
  • Carly Doolan – Newcastle
  • Jon Wynne – Stockport
  • Martin Daly – Glasgow

A panel of industry experts featuring Andy Barrie from online builders community ‘On The Tools’, Liz Male, chair of quality assurer TrustMark, journalist Fiona Russell-Horne and Donna Rostovsky from Osma will now select a winner.

As well as the title of ‘Young Tradesperson of the Year’, the winner will receive a holiday to Barcelona – voted one of the top places for travel in 2015 – plus tickets for a football match at Camp Nou and £1,000 worth of tools.

The winner will be announced on 24 March on the Jewson Facebook page.
