ISG is underway with its latest project at CUH Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, securing the contract to deliver a new MRI scanner facility at the world-renowned teaching hospital.
The project sees ISG modify and reconfigure an underused area of the main building to accommodate an additional MRI scanner, further enhancing patient facilities at the hospital. The contractor has successfully delivered a number of recent projects at CUH Addenbrooke’s Hospital, including refurbishment of the Trauma Centre, the Haematology Department and the Peri-Natal facility.
This latest project involves significant mechanical and electrical services upgrades to the existing accommodation to serve the new MRI scanner, with the installation of specialist shielding, improvements to the drainage system and a full clinical fit out of the new facility.
Liam Duffy, ISG’s regional director – East, commented:
“The dynamic nature of modern medicine, with changing clinical requirements and rapid advancements in technology for treatment and diagnosis exerts increasing demand to adapt and reconfigure existing hospital accommodation. Our specialist knowledge and experience working closely with the Estates Management team at CUH Addenbrooke’s, and at hospitals across the UK, enables ISG to successfully manage and deliver complex live environment projects within strict timeframes.”
