ISG will construct the Digitech Studio School Bristol, the city’s first studio school specialising in the digital, high-tech and creative sectors.
The project is for a new two-storey school building providing a range of modern classroom and design spaces, along with a sports and dining hall and kitchen.
The firm will also undertake a range of external works, including the provision of a new car park, forming an exterior student social area, carrying out hard and soft landscaping and installing photovoltaic panels at roof level to provide emission free electricity.
Rob Martin, ISG’s Western regional managing director, commented:
“Studio schools provide a creative and commercially-oriented environment for students, working in partnership with high-tech businesses to design bespoke curriculums alongside conventional GCSE and A-level qualifications.
“This new school building has been custom-designed as an environment to foster close collaboration between students and successful commercial organisations, providing rich and diverse learning environments to inspire the next generation of creative entrepreneurs.”
The company said it had already completed an enabling package, carrying out light refurbishment works to provide interim accommodation for the Digitech School on ‘The Grange’ School site.
The scheme was awarded via the Education Funding Agency (EFA) Regional Framework.
