May Design Series, organised by UBM Live Built Environment, is delighted to announce a truly international offering at this year’s show set to deliver just what the industry has been waiting for; an event with a wealth of new, established, international and UK brands signed to the show.
They are thrilled to announce a 30% increase in international exhibitors from over 15 countries and will be joined by Danalight, Stone Italia, Mango Crafts, Alpine Lounge and Weavart to name a few. Plus an incredible 72% new brands will now join the best line up to date.
Excitement for the show is fiercely mounting with its new 5 distinct districts, Kitchen + Bathroom, Decor, DX, Lighting and The Furniture Show. They take a behind the scenes look at the new products that will be available to visitors as well as the sentiment from exhibitors on what they’re looking forward to seeing at this year’s show.
With close to 300 brands now signed up and rising they are pleased to welcome familiar favourites and those both new and ambitious to be part of the May Design Series. New and inspirational brands to the show include Gwinner, Casamania, Dune, Ebb and Flow and PP Mobler to name a selection. It’s clear that London is deemed the gateway to the UK market, and are therefore pleased to introduce these suppliers exclusively to the show. Matthew Rhodhes from Danish brand PP Mobler was keen to add on signing:
“We are delighted to be rounding of the exhibition season by showing at May Design Series. Coming to London after Milan feels like a natural step to take, and it is uplifting to see that London now has a long-awaited internationally competitive event. PP Mobler will be using this opportunity to celebrate 100 years of Hans Wegner by presenting a contemporary take on some of his most well known designs, as well as introducing some brand new collections to the UK market, including the Wegner Tub Chair, the Upholstered Peacock Chair and the Hammock Chair.”
Deirdre Dyson will be presenting their 2014 carpet collection entitled ‘Designs from the Seashore’ and inspired by the beaches of the Las Perlas islands. The designs incorporate Chinese silk and pure wool, giving the carpets an iridescent appearance resembling water passing over the beach. Each carpet is bespoke and can be either fitted or free-standing, and customers can apply their own creative ideas to Deirdre’s designs to create a personal product that will perfectly compliment any individual space. Carpets are available in any shape or size and in a palette of over 2000 shades.
Danish lighting specialists EBB & FLOW combine British and Nordic style with glass, metals and textiles to create modern lighting and decorative solutions designed to bring warmth and beauty to any space. The company will be giving its Spring 14 collection its official launch at May Design Series 2014. Two popular designs, the Rowan pendant lamp and the cylindrical Pillar lamp, are to be updated with the addition of horizontal stripes in metallic gold, copper and platinum for a chic modern finish, whilst the Pillar dimpled lampshade range and Glow in a Dome models are now available in a wider range of colours and finishes.
Strengthening the international offering will be focus areas from around the world including Design China, a collaboration with their sister event Furniture China creating a one-stop destination to see the latest in original Chinese design. They will also be working with the Portuguese association AIMMP, to showcase companies renowned for their craftsmanship and quality, highlighting some of the best pieces to come out of Portugal.
Exclusive to the UK, Materia also is back and better than ever bringing their ‘Smart Environment’ exhibition to London.
