Ignorance is not an excuse, Structural Timber Association advises

The construction phase fire risk is a serious issue for all construction sites.

With a recent high profile court case where the HSE fined an architects practice for being ignorant of guidance available to them, it is of significant importance that construction professionals are aware of the risks and how they can be mitigated.

For structural timber frame buildings, the Structural Timber Association has issued advice on the risks to be aware of surrounding construction phase fire safety.  This article covers how these risks can be mitigated to ensure compliance with the HSE as well as CDM 2015 and HSG 168.
