Housebuilder seeks Hesketh Bank causes to support

A leading regional builder is inviting Hesketh Bank good causes to bid for up to £1,000 of funding.

Persimmon Homes Lancashire is urging community groups and charities from the area to apply for match-funding donations from its Community Champions scheme.

The fund was launched in March 2015 to support grassroots activities that improve the quality of life for local people and has so far given away almost £2million.

Local groups and charities can bid for cash from a national fund, with two donations of up to £1,000 being made locally every month on a match-funding basis.

Diane Finch, sales director at Persimmon Homes Lancashire, said:

“Our Community Champions scheme has certainly struck a chord with many charities and worthy causes, with hundreds of nominations being made nationally every month.

“We will soon be launching our Douglas Gardens development in Hesketh Bank and would love to see a local group benefiting from the available funding. We are determined to donate our money where it will help the most.

“All we ask is that the group or charity has already worked hard to raise money themselves, and we will then match this effort with funding of up to £1,000. It is also really simple to apply for, with groups and charities invited to visit www.persimmonhomes.com/charity and complete an online application form.”

Groups helped across the region during the past 12 months include St John’s Hospice, Woodlands Animal Sanctuary and Lancaster Area Search and Rescue.Douglas Gardens is planned as a collection of two bedroom apartments and two, three, four and five bedroom houses within walking distance of fantastic local amenities and great transport links.
