The LG Hausys stand at London’s recent 100% Design exhibition showed their natural stone solid surface material HI-MACS® to superb effect.
A collection of quirky and fun furniture pieces demonstrated how HI-MACS® enables designers to realise new and radical concepts through the properties of HI-MACS® that in no way inhibit design boundaries. The display included various storage modules, a standing lamp and an avant garde chair – all exemplifying the tremendous thermo-forming ability that designers can achieve.
The stand also included the single piece, dual level Agata desk and matching stool that clearly allowed visitors to explore the three dimensional possibilities that HI-MACS® offers.
Of course colour, texture and effects are all very much part of the appeal that HI-MACS® hold out and an exciting new collection of six “Sparkle” colours by designer Karim Rashid were displayed – enthusiastic visitors to the stand had the opportunity of voting for their favorite!
A fourth aspect of the 100% Design HI-MACS® exhibit concentrated on the technical aspects of the materials being used architecturally for external cladding. Experts were on hand to explain and discuss the significant advantages of using the solid surface material in this context and a large wall display showed an actual section of cladding that is being used in the French boat manufacturer, Beneteau’s, Head Office.
LG Hausys, says that this year’s 100% Design exhibition was a great success and that they were very impressed by the show as a whole and the quality of the visitors – ‘back to the level of a few years ago’.
