Green light for new Ellesmere Port homes

Anwyl Homes has started work on a new development of 130 homes in Ellesmere Port after securing planning permission.

Located off Rossbank Road, the new venture will expand on an already thriving community, neighbouring Anwyl’s hugely successful development – The Oaks – where all but one of the homes has sold out.

Phil Dolan, managing director for Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said: “We’re pleased to have secured planning permission for an additional 130 new homes in Ellesmere Port. The Oaks has been one of our fastest selling developments ever since its launch in summer 2017.

“Our latest development will expand this thriving new community and transform a former factory site into a desirable place for families to call home. We look forward to welcoming new homeowners to this superb development, with properties available to reserve from early next year.”

Anwyl will also be creating a multi-use games area, football pitch and areas of green open space to be enjoyed by new residents.

National planning and development consultancy Turley helped to secure reserved matters approval for the new 19-acre site, which is a joint venture with housing association Torus, while law firm Shoosmiths provided legal support for the scheme.

The new planning permission allows for an additional 130 two, three and four-bedroom homes to be built for private sale by Anwyl plus 130 affordable homes to be marketed by Torus. In total the latest development will support or sustain around 780 jobs in the local area.

Anwyl will also be making a contribution of over £48,000 towards offsite recreation for the benefit of the local community.

As the 120 homes previously provided by Anwyl at The Oaks approach sell-out, home buyers won’t have to wait long before Anwyl releases its new development for sale in January 2021.

The new homes are located close to an array of amenities including local shops, The Ellesmere Port Sports Village, the fantastic green spaces at Rivacre Valley Country Park and the shopping and leisure attractions of Cheshire Oaks.

It’s also perfect for commuters, just a short drive from junction 8 of the M53, within nine miles of Chester city centre and close to Overpool train station with regular trains to Liverpool in 38 minutes.

The new development will be marketed under the name The Oaks at Rossbank, with first homes due to be completed in late summer 2021 when show homes will also open.
