LK2 Architects appoint new director

Rapidly expanding architects, sports and leisure firm LK2, has appointed Murray Fishlock as a regional director – following increased demand for its services across the country.

Murray has over 20 years’ experience in the sports industry, making him an important and significant addition to LK2’s team.

LK2 has been growing progressively since its inception, but over the last 12 months the firm has appointed six members of staff taking the total to 17.

As director, Murray will work to drive forward LK2’s presence across the UK, securing sports projects and optimising outcomes for LK2’s clients. He will be leading on a number of accounts as well as overseeing projects and members of the LK2 team.

Murray said:

“My skill set is a great match with the services of the firm and my experience at The Football Foundation has provided me with knowledge on the needs of sporting bodies and charities – and I’ll be using this knowledge in my new role to further support clients.”

Over the course of his career, Murray has worked in many consulting and management positions. Since 2014 he has been self-employed, acting as a consultant on behalf of local authorities, property and regeneration developers, sports organisations and national governing bodies.

LK2 is a unique firm of consultants who specialise in architecture, sports and leisure project development. LK2 continued to grow its workforce last year – the firm employed one part-time employee and three full-time staff in 2014 – in response to increased demand for its services.

LK2 work on projects ranging from residential properties and office spaces to the development of town centres and large sports facilities. One of the largest areas of growth for LK2 has been its work with the FA and Sport England on a number of projects – the firm has reported an increase of 112 per cent of growth in this area over the last year, signalling an important of development for LK2.
