Once again, commercial systems specialist Smart Architectural Aluminium will have a dominant presence at Ecobuild, with the company showcasing a number of new and existing products at the exhibition, as well as presenting its sustainability credentials.
A six metre run of Smart Wall curtain walling will form the spine of the company’s stand with a range of window and door products being framed by the system.
Featuring prominently will be the recently-launched Alitherm Heritage range of windows and doors, the display including a new pivot window, which has been designed to fit into very traditional openings such as stone mullions. Alitherm Heritage offers a modern, thermally-broken solution to the problem of replacing traditional steel-framed doors and windows, the elegant lines of the new system perfectly replicating the slim profiles of traditional steel windows and doors. The system is ideal for sensitive planning areas and for heritage, renovation and refurbishment projects where traditional steel doors and windows have to be replaced.
Also on display will be products from the Alitherm 700 range, with both parallel opening and top-swing reversible windows installed. The innovative Alitherm 700 system offers an ideal solution for increasing levels of natural ventilation, delivering a balanced and effective airflow without compromising security or safety. The system works perfectly with curtain wall facades for low- and high-rise, new build and refurbishment projects.
Concluding the window display will be a tilt-turn system from the Eco Futural range of high performance commercial windows. The profile of each product features a chambered polyamide thermal break to deliver excellent thermal performance. A matching commercial door will complete the Eco Futural section of the stand.
Other doors on the Smart stand will be the Visoglide Plus and Smart Wall rebated products. Visoglide Plus offers new slim line profiles for the high-end, high performance commercial sliding door, while the launch of the Smart Wall rebated door will deliver an anti-finger trap solution which will be ideal for public buildings such as schools, hospitals and libraries – still with excellent U-values and weather protection. These products can all be retro-fitted if required and so offer yet more scope for architects and contractors when considering refurbishment projects.
Commenting on the product display, Smart’s Managing Director, Eddie Robinson said:
“We are delighted to have such a strong presence at Ecobuild and to be able to demonstrate our most recent product developments, particularly for the refurbishment and regeneration sectors, to so many industry professionals.
“We will also use the exhibition to present our rapidly expanding sustainability credentials, which include an ambitious plan to become a carbon neutral business and completely energy self-sufficient. Over recent years, we have implemented a range of environmental policies and procedures, including an ISO14001 Environmental Management System and the introduction of strict recycling protocols, and in a future expansion programme, we will be developing our UK manufacturing site to increase capacity by more than 50%. We remain the only UK-based manufacturer with the capability of extruding, finishing and distributing aluminium profiles from a single site.”
