Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems; with their approved fabricator Ridgway Architectural Glazing recently completed a new Tesco Superstore in London E4. Have initially been refused planning permission and then re-designed this new Tesco store has now been cited by the local authority and CABE as exemplary. This new build mixed use development includes 250 homes, shops, crèche, business units and a pocket park for the local community.
The design vision was to create a continuous glass facade to the new superstore. With this in mind, and to ensure the design brief could be achieved, Comar 6EFT was selected as it offers architects a flexible system, providing a structurally glazed solution, with options for facets, concealed vents and an extensive range of profiles that cater for large structurally glazed panes.
All Comar approved fabricators are required to have the technical expertise to attend pre-site meetings and provide detailing. Ridgeway Architectural Glazing liaised closely with the specifiers to provide design advice and detailing which ensured the project ran smoothly and met site deadlines.
