Canary Wharf Group’s first ever homes will go on sale in July as part of the first wave of residential development on the Canary Wharf Estate.
The residences form part of Canary Wharf’s new phase to the east of the existing Estate which will comprise 3,200 new homes, a quarter of which will be affordable, plus offices, shops, a school and doctor’s surgery. There will also be capacity to build a further 400 new homes in the future.
Prices are expected to start from £395,000. UK buyers will be the first in line when the homes at brand new residential address 10 Park Drive go on sale on Thursday 9th July.
10 Park Drive is a unique tower designed by architects Stanton Williams and Make Architects. The design makes the most of the uninterrupted views to the south, east and west including the O2, public parks and gardens on the water’s edge, and includes 74 studios, 115 one-bedroom apartments, 141 two-bedroom apartments and 15 three-bedroom apartments.
Residents will have access to a beautiful private sky terrace, providing an uninterrupted southern exposure throughout the year and will also have membership to a stunning health and fitness club, including a swimming pool and state-of-the-art gym.
Stirling Prize winning architectural practice Stanton Williams has designed a mid-rise 13 storey element which adjoins a 42 storey tower incorporating 345 individual residential units with interiors designed by award winning firm, Make Architects. All of the residential properties will be built to the highest design standards with every intricate detail considered, planned and designed accordingly.
The new mixed-use development is located on a 13 hectare site adjacent to the existing buildings that form the globally recognised Canary Wharf skyline.
The apartments at 10 Park Drive will be served by the new Crossrail station at Canary Wharf when it opens in 2018. This means homes will be only six minutes to Liverpool Street, within 39 minutes of Heathrow and just moments from City Airport, international train services to Europe and 13 minutes to Bond Street. Meanwhile, on their doorstep, buyers will be able to take advantage of the best bars, restaurants and shopping at Canary Wharf. The retail offering has diversified further with the opening of Crossrail Place above the new Crossrail station in May 2015, home to one of the largest roof gardens in London.
Canary Wharf Group’s Chairman and CEO, Sir George Iacobescu comments:
“The sales launch marks the beginning of our high quality residential programme, on a secure and well-connected Estate surrounded by one of London’s most vibrant, social, cultural and sustainable communities.”
Camille Waxer, Chief Administrative Officer, Canary Wharf Group said:
“The launch of residential sales is a momentous milestone for Canary Wharf Group. For those who have always aspired to live on the Estate, they can finally make this a reality and call it home. Canary Wharf continues to evolve and diversify, especially with the opening of the new leisure destination, Crossrail Place earlier in the year. This is a fantastic opportunity for buyers to live in one of London’s most desirable areas.”
Commenting on the homes, Paul Williams, Founding Director, Stanton Williams said:
“Canary Wharf is unquestionably a highly desirable place to live. It’s dynamic, by the water and there’s the convenience of living and working in the same place. When designing the building, we wanted to promote a sense of wellbeing and create an environment that will enhance the quality of residents’ lives, and have therefore focussed on creating calm, inviting spaces. The combination of a vibrant community, great apartments, wonderful social spaces and gardens, and generous views are hard to find anywhere else in London.”
Katy Ghahremani, Director at Make Architects, and part of the team responsible for the interiors of 10 Park Drive, added:
“We are extremely proud to be involved in Canary Wharf’s first residential development. Canary Wharf has taken a thoughtful approach to how 10 Park Drive will create a truly mixed-use community and we are delighted to be a part of it.”
