BSRIA is delighted to have sponsored the best use of MEP (mechanical electrical plumbing) and POD Technology Award at the recent Offsite Construction Awards which celebrate the best in precision building design and delivery. The winners were: SES Engineering Services (SES) for the Quadram Institute in Norwich.
The ceremony was held on Tuesday 6th March 2018 at ExCel – London.
The Offsite Construction Awards reward outstanding examples of prefabrication and factory-based methods, products, systems and disciplines that increasingly strive to develop a sustainable, streamlined and cost-effective way to deliver a better built environment.
Now in its fourth year, offsite manufacture removes much of the construction process from the construction site, leading to far-reaching and vital benefits.
Across key sectors of UK construction, the awards will showcase innovation, celebrate best practice and recognise overall expertise in offsite construction through landmark projects, influential people and material and manufacturing excellence in this dynamic arena.
Peter Tse, Business Manager, Sustainable Construction Group, BSRIA, said:
“I was honored to have presented the award for the best use of MEP and POD Technology. These awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise innovation in both design and construction, pushing the boundaries of both sustainability and cost efficiency in delivery of our built environment.
“SES is a worthy winner and the Quadram Institute is a new multi-million pound state-of-the-art food and health research and endoscopy centre that will open mid-2018.”
“The Institute will work with industry to become a leading international hub for food and health science, combining scientific excellence and critical expertise, to deliver better patient care while accelerating innovation.”
“Indeed: BSRIA supports forward thinking and finding complementary ways to provide a step change in delivery and performance of the built environment.”
New categories that have been added for 2018 included: housing project of the year; best use of POD technology; product innovation award; offsite pioneer of the year; and engineer of the year. This is a great opportunity where industry specialists get the chance to showcase their inspirational achievements first hand to a panel of leading industry figures.
