Britain’s kitchen taste goes contemporary

Britain’s favourite range cooker manufacturer, Rangemaster, has discovered that the kitchen appliance choices of the UK are taking a brave leap into the modern.

An analysis of Rangemaster’s cooker sales from the past year reveals the modern and contemporary style for kitchens is on the up, while more traditional design tastes are being overtaken.

Black and stainless steel finishes are the mode, topping the previously favoured red and cream.

This lust for the industrial look is also manifested in a rise in larger cooker sales. In particular those living in the south are increasingly shopping for a professional style with increased sales of sturdy, wide models, whilst also favouring a conventional oven over the multifunction alternative.

Rangemaster spokesman, Wai San Hon commented: ‘…the recent rise in popularity of TV shows such as Great British Bake Off as well as inspirational cooking programmes like Masterchef, has meant Rangemaster customers are tailoring their cookers to suit a more functional and professional style kitchen, placing them in better stead to create the best at- home menu possible.”.

Rangemaster is the largest UK manufacturer of stainless steel kitchen sinks, supplying a diverse customer base from local authorities to national house builders, kitchen retailers and distributors. The original Flavel company was founded more than 235 years ago, giving Rangemaster an outstanding heritage of British manufacturing, design and innovation. Not only is Rangemaster proud to be family focused and dedicated to making the kitchen a focal point within the home, but is also renowned as a complete kitchen appliance brand. Product ranges encompass: range cooking, built-in cooking (ovens and hobs), hoods and splashbacks, refrigeration and wine storage, sinks, taps and dishwashing. Please visit
