Following substantial investment in its telehandler fleet A-Plant now has one of the largest and youngest holdings of telehandlers in the hire industry, with almost 1,600 machines from 4m to 18m, at an average age of under two years.
A-Plant’s telehandlers have been purchased from JCB and other leading manufacturers to provide their customers with machines that meet Stage IIIB/Tier 4 emission regulations, utilise ultra-clean technology and use up to 10% less fuel than older Tier 3 units.
The telehandlers are also equipped with the latest in telematics technology. A-Plant’s customers are able to not just benefit from added security through tracking but can also monitor machine usage and even set-up automated alerts if the hired machines exceed site speed limits or are moved out of a specified geographic zone.
Director of Purchasing and Fleet Management at A-Plant, Andrew Winlow commented,
“Across our entire fleet we’ve maintained a strategy of investing heavily in the latest equipment. Our telehandler fleet is no different and in the last twelve months, due to customer demand and exceedingly high levels of utilisation, our fleet of telehandlers has grown significantly to be almost 1,600 strong. At a cost of over £60 million it makes us the go to hire company for telehandler hire.”
“We have got even more investment planned in the coming months. Orders will be placed to increase the fleet size further, plus our reach is increasing with 20m telehandlers being added to the range.”
