‘Solid foundations’ – Chichester College students rewarded for construction studies

Construction students at Chichester College are celebrating following the college’s Construction Prize Giving ceremony.

The awards are held annually and aim to highlight students’ achievements in plumbing, carpentry, joinery, brickwork, painting and decorating, and electrical and construction skills. Winners are selected by the lecturing teams at the college and are categorised into Level 1, 2 and 3 for each prize.

Amongst the 26 winners were three students who were presented with prizes donated by timber and builders merchants Covers, which has its headquarters on Quarry Lane.

Theo Carl, Daniel Redwood and Jack Snipe were all presented with a certificate and star award by Sally Challis-Manning, Group Deputy Principle – Quality, after winning the The Covers Award for Brickwork, The Covers Prize for Best Level 3 Apprentice, and The Covers Prize for Best 1st Year Carpenter respectively.

Henry Green, Managing Director at Covers, said:

“Congratulations to Theo, Daniel and Jack on their well-deserved wins. Covers is delighted to be part of this ceremony and the important work that Chichester College does to encourage skilled and professional tradespeople of the future.”

John Bradbury, Head of Construction at Chichester College, added:

“We are extremely proud of our students who have all worked hard and shown a great deal of dedication and determination throughout the year. Congratulations to all our winners. We wish them a relaxing and enjoyable summer.”
