No medals yet for Olympic homes delivery

Just half of the 1,471 new homes targeted for the Olympic Park in 2017 were actually completed. Only 74 of these new homes were affordable, which is a quarter of the annual affordable homes target of 455.

The draft London Plan sets a higher annual target for 2,161 new homes, almost 50 per cent above the current target and the Mayor has a long-term goal for 50 per cent affordable homes.

Given progress to date, what chances are there of the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) delivering the homes they said they would deliver? Will enough of these homes be affordable and a decent family-size?

On the 5th June, the London Assembly Housing Committee will get an update directly from the LLDC on the number, type and affordability of new homes on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The guests are:

  • Rosanna Lawson, Executive Director, Development, London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC)
  • Paul Brickell, Executive Director, Regeneration and Community Partnerships, LLDC

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 5 June from 10:00am in The Chamber (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
