New decking distribution deal serves up market access nationwide for Composite Prime®

A new distribution agreement has been reached between fast-growing outdoor decking company Composite Prime and one of the best-known businesses in the UK timber sector.

Timbmet Ltd says it has found ‘an ideal partner’ for its ambitious outdoor living expansion plans through the deal with eco-friendly decking experts Composite Prime.

The company has begun diversifying into other product areas and the tie-up with Composite Prime puts in place a distribution agreement covering its HD Deck ® DUAL and HD Deck ® XS ranges.

Timbmet’s Commercial Director Paul Holstead said:

“Composite Prime’s products stood out as being something that had real potential for us, establishing their own impressive market presence in a very short period.”

The two companies found strong synergies which align with the growth agenda underpinning Composite Prime and Timbmet’s recent strategic decision to expand further into composites. Mr Holstead said:

“This ticks all the boxes for us.”

Rudy Micallef, Composite Prime’s Commercial Director, welcomed the scale and efficiency of Timbmet’s operations. He said:

“This is a truly nationwide distribution arrangement. The fit is tremendous for all parties and is already starting to pay dividends in terms of tapping into such well-established distribution channels.”

Both executives stressed that a critical factor in the new relationship had been the rise in demand for sustainable solutions in light of the global campaign to combat plastic waste.

Composite Prime is focussed on tackling consumers’ environmental concerns through innovative use of a combination of Forest Stewardship Council FSC® 100 per cent certified hardwood timber from well managed, sustainable sources and recycled plastic waste in its decking products.

Mr Holstead said:

“What must also be remembered is the aesthetics. Composite Prime’s products are not only extremely high quality, they are also very attractive, which is vital when opening distribution channels into the do-it-yourself and outdoor living markets.”

The new deal comes hot on the heels of a similar distribution agreement reached with another high profile name in the UK timber sector, Taylor Maxwell, which is supplying Composite Prime’s mainstream decking ranges to timber and builders’ merchants nationwide, again leading to new business.

Mr Micallef added:

“Composite Prime has grown quickly from a standing start three years ago and the challenge now is to make sure product is readily available as market demand accelerates. Now we have these important network arrangements in place, we are in a strong position to build on the momentum achieved to date.”
